Mrs. Louise Brown Little: Obituary

Louise Brown Little, of Morganton, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at her home following a brief illness. She was born August 12, 1935, in Young Harris, GA, to the late William Rosco Brown and Wilma Rose Cheek Brown. She was preceded in death by her sister, Reva Mae Brown Jennings.

Louise graduated with an Associate of Science Degree from the Sacred Heart College. Mrs. Little was a very active member of Morganton Baptist Church and was deeply loved by her church family. Most of her working life was spent as a Medical Laboratory Technician at the Rockford Clinic. For 25 years, Louise had been an active member of Union County Lions Club, receiving many awards including the prestigious Melvin Jones Award. This award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with “Lionism.” She served many different offices including president of the Union County Lions Club. Louise had also been inducted into the Lions Club Hall Of Fame.

Mrs. Little had served as president of the American Federation Of Republication Women in Union and Fannin County; She served as treasurer of the Fannin County Republican Party and was also an Associate member of Gilmer County Republican Party. She was a member of Daughters of the Confederacy, Joseph Emerson Brown Chapter. She has served as a board member and chairman of Georgia Mountain Health. After retiring back in the area, she had worked as a substitute teacher in the Fannin County School System. Mrs. Little loved substitute teaching and frequently spoke of “her kids.”
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Little, her sons, Edward Brian Little and William Lloyd (Teresa) Little, her grandchildren, Victoria Rose Little, William Caleb Little and Alexandrea Lee Little, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 2:00 pm from the Morganton Baptist Church, Morganton, Ga. with the Pastor Eric Kinkade officiating. Music provided by the Tankersley Family. Interment will follow in Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery in Towns County. Pallbearers: W.C. Nelson, Bruce Jennings III, Brent Jennings, Dean Putman, Don Clary & Caroll Williamson.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 5, 2017, 6:00-9:00 PM.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to one of the following charities Union County Lions Club P.O.
