Mr. James Brown: Obituary

James Brown, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home. Mr. Brown was born on September 13, 1951 to the late Frank Brown and Minnie LueVeana Watson Brown. He worked in Real Estate and was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Patterson Brown of Blue Ridge; children and their spouses, Kim Brown Wood and Jimmy Wood of Blue Ridge, Betty and Pat Smith of Columbus, OH, Scott and Racheal Caylor of Copperhill, TN; stepdaughters and spouses, Tracy and Elwin Byers of Culberson, NC, Kim Caylor and Jamie Patterson of McCaysville; brothers, Pete Thomas of Blue Ridge and William B. Thomas of Daytona Beach, FL; sisters, Helen Marie Foster of Blue Ridge and Minnie Pearl Mason of Mississippi; grandchildren, Justin Wood, Jamie Caylor, John Caylor, and Angel Caylor.

Visitation was held from Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge. Interment will follow at a later date in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 1032 Pack Creek Road Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
