Mr. Bill Dunn: Obituary

Mr. Bill Dunn, age 86, of Copperhill, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2016 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Born on December 24, 1930, he was the son of the late George Clifton and Hattie Millsaps Dunn. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. He served in the United States Navy. He worked for the Tennessee Chemical Company until his retirement. He served on the Board of Directors for United Community Banks and on the Fannin County Board of Education. He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Wyatt Dunn.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Walton of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, David Walton of Chicago, IL and Sara (Daniel) Stewart of Blue Ridge; and sister-in-law, Catherine Dunn of Epworth; and special friend, Betty Mashburn of Blue Ridge, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel. Rev. Bob Richardson will officiate and a Eulogy will be provided by Bob Kilpatrick. Music will be provided by Rev. Doug Jordan and Connie Davis. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Friday Afternoon from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour of 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millsaps Cemetery Fund C/O Don Millsaps, PO Box 314, Epworth, GA 30541. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
