Lloyd Eugene Hughes, age 81 of McCaysville, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. Mr. Hughes was born October 6, 1935, in Copperhill, TN to the late Mack Lorene Hughes and the late Beulah Lee Everett Hughes. He was preceded in death by, brother and sister in law, Roy E. and Claudine Hughes.
Lloyd was a life long resident of Fannin County a graduate of Berry College in Rome and had taught school at East Fannin High School, he had worked as a bookkeeper for several local auto dealerships. He enjoyed participating in activities at the community center in Ducktown and was a well-known figure as often walked the McCaysville-Copperhill area. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: nephews, Roy D (Maeola) Hughes and Milton Eugene (Kim) Hughes, niece, Glenda Queen, several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services: Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 12:00 Noon at the Kingtown Cemetery with the Rev. Jeffery Herron officiating.
