Mollie Akin: Obituary

Mollie Akin, age 88 of old Highway 5 of Blue Ridge, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Stonehenge Assisted Living Center in Blairsville. Mollie was born January 31, 1929 in Polk Co., TN to the late Balus Samuel Akin and the late Bessie Elizabeth Akin. She was a member of Epworth First Baptist Church. She worked 29 years as a dietitian at Epworth Elementary School. Ms. Akin was preceded in death by son, Steven Akin, brothers, Douglas E Akin and Edward B Akin.

Funeral services: Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Epworth First Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Quilting Ministry at the Epworth first Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Tuesday, May 23, 2017, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
