Storms wrecked havoc in north Georgia last Thursday, May 4th, with winds reaching high speeds.  Downed trees blocked roadways, took down power lines and damaged homes.

Thousands in North Georgia lost power and were left with home damage or blocked roads.  Fannin County schools reported all locations lost power with the exception of West Fannin.  The Fannin School system closed schools the following day.    Tri-State EMC and Amicalola EMC reported thousands without power while linemen worked in more stormy weather.    Storms appeared again in the forecast May 5th however the wind had slowed down.
