Mr. John Henry Dyer: Obituary

Mr. John Henry Dyer, age 70, of Epworth, GA passed away on March 24, 2017. Born in Epworth, GA, he was the son of the late Dock and Hester Jones Dyer. John had worked for 21 years at Shaw Industries as a Maintenance Mechanic. He was also a member of the New Vision Church.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Queen Dyer of Epworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ann Dyer; daughters and sons-in-laws, Melinda and Todd Walker and Melissa and Rev. Ricky Hicks all of Ellijay; brothers and one sister-in-law, Ed and Gail Dyer of Brunswick, GA, Roba Dyer of Ellijay, GA and George Dyer of McCaysville, GA; sisters, Carlene Postell of the Higdon Community, Helen Dickey of McCaysville, GA and Susie and husband James Cook of Ringgold, GA; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from the New Vision Church with Rev. Ricky Hicks officiating. Music was provided Lori Clayton and Melinda Briant. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chris Vann, Eric Hicks, Brett Hicks, Casey Dyer, Drew Dyer, Mike Johnson and Travis Ramirez. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Charles Payne, Mike Thomas, Bobby Nicholson, Mike Johnson and Larry Nicholson. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
