Mrs. Mattie Sue Boring: Obituary

Mattie Sue Boring, age 80, of Turtletown, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Turtletown, TN. Born on December 14, 1936 in Cookeville, TN, she was the daughter of the late David Crockett and Carrie Pennington McBride. She worked for Hiawassee Mental Health as a Mental Health Assistant. She attended Mt. Carmel House of Prayer. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Herman P. Boring of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Boring and Robert Larry Warnock of Atlanta, GA and Ellen Boring and Keith Nicholson of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Katherine McBride Pisaniello and Lillian Abigail Nicholson; brother, Keith McBride of Cookeville, TN; and sisters, Glenda Randolph of Cookeville, TN, Fay Scott of Cookeville, TN, and Ruth Farley of Lake Station, IN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel of Copperhill. A eulogy will be given by Keith Nicholson. Graveside services will follow in the Mount Carmel House of Prayer Cemetery. Sonny West, Buddy West, Billy Dean Ledford, J.D. Price, Paul Ray White, Eric Davis, and Rick Boring will serve as pallbearers. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Herman Murphy, Billy Dean Ledford, J.D. Price, Scott Bennett, Kenneth Graham, J.C. Lunsford, and Loy Williamson. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
