Mrs. Lois Watson, age 90, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on November 1, 2016 at the Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge, GA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved working her crossword puzzles and watching wrestling. Preceding her in death was her parents, Basile and Olvia Jones Keener; and husband, Delmar A. Watson. She was a long time member of the Hipps Chapel Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws, George W. Watson, Larry W. and Ellene Watson, Edwin R. Watson and Daniel T. and Jeanie Watson all of Epworth, GA; daughter, Martha Breeden of Blue Ridge, GA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Richard Watson of Dalton, GA, Paul Gates of Ellijay, GA and Jess Postell of Epworth, GA; sister-in-law, Beulah Watson of Dalton, GA; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Linda and Ronald Hyde and Thelma Champion. Interment will follow in the Helping Hand Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Arnold Postell, Carl Patterson, Joe Breeden, Mike Watson, Zeke McPherson, and Billy Joe Postell. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Jack Postell, Harold Worley, John Postell, Jason Postell and George Watkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
