Mr. Stanley Joe Cromwell: Obituary

Mr. Stanley Joe Cromwell, age 78, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge. Born on April 5, 1938, in Etna, CA, he was the son of the late Blackie Cromwell and Eva Bodecker. He served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Tennessee Chemical Company where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. He attended First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mull Cromwell.

He is survived by son, Danny Lee Cromwell of Blue Ridge; daughter, Sherrie Dee Cromwell of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Felicia Brook Johnson of Ducktown and Tracy Danielle Cromwell of Clemson, SC; sister, Peggy Axton of Etna, CA; sister-in-law, Delores (Edd) Pelfrey of McCaysville; and brother-in-law, L.C. Stover of Kennesaw.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music will be provided by Angie Cox and Brenda Jones. Interment will follow in the Salem #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Lee Cox, Edd Pelfrey, Terry Pelfrey, Frank Fair Jr., Don Roberts, and Larry Goss. L.C. Stover will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday Evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
