Carolyn Sue Arp Gibson, age 64 of Cleveland TN passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, GA. Carolyn was born on April 16, 1952 in Polk County, TN to the late John Thomas Arp, Sr. and Bertha Marie Shuler Arp. She worked at Queen Carpet as a creeler (tufting machine operator). Carolyn was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Gibson, brother, J.T. Arp, Jr.; sister, Shirley Helms and grandson, Jason Byers.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Greg Gibson (Marlicia) of Chatsworth, GA; daughter, Melody Parris (Doug) of Cleveland, TN; sister, Virginia Hood of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Haley Baliles, Justin Parris, Heather Parris, Savannah Parris, Bryan Crider, Ryan Crider, Monica Manis and Jonathan Byers; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Sugar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Weeks officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Parris, Justin Baliles, Ryan Crider, Bryan Crider, Jonathan Byers and Randy Manis. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
