Mr. George Edmund Andrin III: Obituary

Mr. George Edmund Andrin III, age 89 of Blue Ridge, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home. Mr. Andrin was born April 11, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA to the late George E. Andrin II and the late Kathryn Walloch Andrin. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and also an active member of the North Georgia Honor Guard. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked for many years as a Human Resource Trainer for the State of Georgia. Mr. Andrin was also the founding member of the Blue Ridge Mountain chapter of Trout Unlimited. He moved to the Blue Ridge area in 1989 from Atlanta.

Survivors include loving wife, Peggy Braswell Andrin, daughter, Katherine Andrin of Atlanta, daughter & son-in-law, Mary Sue (Jeff) Abeln of Orange Beach, AL, daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca Ann (David) Hulsey of Hiawassee, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:00 am at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Conway officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Military honors will be presented by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
