James Ronald “Ronnie” White, aged 75, of 80 LaVista Drive, Blue Ridge, died August 13, 2016 at Pruitt Health Care, Blue Ridge, following an extended illness.
A visitation will be held at Akins Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 16 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 7 Ewing Street, Blue Ridge. Interment will follow at Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. The Rev. Victor H. Morgan will officiate.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Anne Gilliam White; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katy and Anthony Holloway and Tiffany and David Davenport; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Doug Patterson; five grandchildren, Avery Holloway, Will Holloway, Anna Holloway, Drew Davenport, and Brianne Davenport; two brothers-in-law, Cadman Robb Kiker, Jr.(wife, Angelia) and Scott Kiker (wife, Marion); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. White was retired from Cities Service Corp. and Blue Ridge Housing Authority. He was active in local politics and served a term chairman of the Fannin County Republican Party. A caring person, he dedicated much of his time providing friendship and services to those in need.
Mr. White was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Blue Ridge, and a former vestryman and lay reader at St. Mark’s Church, Copperhill.
