Mr. Larry Donald Wilson: Obituary

Larry Donald Wilson, age 75, of Morganton, GA passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at his home. Born in Fannin County, GA, he was the son of the late John William (Bill) Wilson and Edna Elvelia Mull Wilson. He worked as a car inspector at Tennessee Chemical Company where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a son, Larry Donald Wilson, sister Angie Wilson, and grandchild Brian Holden.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wilson of Morganton; son and daughter-in-law, Cary Demetrius Wilson and Barbara Wilson of Morganton; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Travis Holden of Morganton; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica) Heaton, Kim (Todd) Stephens, Kery (Caitlin) Wilson, Tristan Wilson, and Noah Wilson; great grandchildren, Alexis Stephens, Dawson Heaton, Addi Stephens, and Blake Heaton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Michael Morton and Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Music will be by Margaret Crawford and Teresa Ross. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Heaton, Kery Wilson, Tristan Wilson, Noah Wilson, Todd Stephens, and Steve Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hurst, Dawson Heaton, Blake Heaton, and Thomas Hooper. Interment will follow in Hemptown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
