Mr. Joseph Edward “Eddie” Watkins, age 70, of Marietta, GA, passed away on April 20, 2016 in Cobb County, GA.
Born in Epworth, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Coleman Watkins and Reba White Watkins. He had worked for many years as a trucking recruiter until his retirement from Crete Carriers. Mr. Watkins was of the Baptist Faith. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, James Watkins and Mildred Darby.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Jackie McNelley Watkins of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Julie Watkins of Canton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Scott Conti of Acworth, GA; brother, John Watkins of Dayton, OH; sister, Geraldine Carter of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Amber and Hannah Conti and Lucy and Coleman Watkins; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawford Family Cemetery.
