Mrs. Regina “Frances” Hawkins: Obituary

Mrs. Regina “Frances” Hawkins, age 85 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Union General Hospital, Blairsville, GA. Mrs. Hawkins was born April 15, 1930 in Mineral Bluff, GA to John W. Dillard and Hettie Truelove Dillard. A member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She worked as a dishwasher, and later as a caregiver for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lonas Hawkins and 9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: son, Lynn (Diane) Hawkins, daughter, Anne Rush, daughter Marie (Howard) Woody, son, James (Candi) Hawkins, son, Raymond Hawkins, daughter, Louise (Rick) Penley, grandchildren, Joseph Hawkins, Justin Rush, Amanda Murphy, Jason Rush, Gina Hawkins, Matt Hawkins, Beth Hawkins, Cheyanne Spurlin, Robert Woody, Crystal Hughes, Ashley Neal, Jenny Hawkins, John Neal, Jacob Neal, Emily Hawkins and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services: Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Mineral Bluff, GA. Pall bearers will be the grandsons and the honorary pall bearers will be the granddaughters.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
