FCMS REACH Georgia Scholars Attend Presentation

FCMS REACH Georgia Scholars, REACH Georgia Mentors, and REACH Georgia Academic Coach, attended a presentation at FCMS on Friday, January 8^th, 2016.   The presenter was, Sara Stewart.    After graduating from Berry College, Sara Stewart began working for Berry as an Admission Counselor. Much of her work involved helping students to navigate the college admission process and apply for financial aid and scholarships. Sara shared with the REACH scholars the importance of beginning this process early and seeking advice from their REACH mentors, REACH Academic Coaches, Graduation Coaches, counselors, and teachers. She included tips on staying proactive in the process and taking advantage of pportunities at school and in the community to reach their goals.

The REACH Program is designed to encourage the REACH recipients, starting in middle school, to persist in their educational pursuit. Mrs. Kephart, REACH Georgia Academic Coach for FCMS, stated that the presentation gave the REACH Georgia Scholars some great tips on preparing for college from 8^th grade through high school.
