The Second Amendment

As I daily study the Bible and writings of our Founding Fathers I often wonder what went thru their minds as they wrote America’s beginning documents. From the Declaration of Independence to the Articles of the Constitution to the Bill of Rights I’m amazed at the brilliance and genius of these courageous men. What foresight they had as they penned these precious pages. Two areas in particular have caught my attention lately. The last paragraph of Article I section 9 and the simplicity of the second Amendment for example. Who could possibly read something so well stated and not understand its meaning?

Section 9 states that: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.

I understand why the Middle-East clowns won’t call her Queen Hillary but what about all the millions they donated to her foundation while she was Secretary of State?

The second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

So how does Hillary get around Article I and Obama get away with gun control? Maybe Our current Vice President, Uncle Joe Bidden has the answer: “No ordinary American cares about their Constitutional rights.”

I believe our founders understood the purpose of the government was to keep us all-safe but, they also knew how corrupt and evil a government could get. Where for example does it imply the people need a permit to bear arms? Where does it state what type of arms we the people can bear or how many rounds a magazine can hold? Take for example the case of Carol Bowne. Carol’s life was threatened by her ex-boyfriend so Carol filed a restraining order against him and applied for a gun permit. She quickly got the restraining order but the gun permit was another matter. She waited and she waited and she waited. How long was she to wait while her life hung in the balance? 30 days, 60 days, 90 days. Berlin Township police Chief Leonard Check said at his department, it’s the latter when it comes to approving firearms permits and involves multiple organizations coordinating to give the green light.

Scott Bach, the executive director of the Sussex County-headquartered Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, couldn’t stress the former time frame enough.

“Permitting authorities are notorious for violating state-mandated time frames,” said Bach, citing state criminal code that requires an application be granted within 30 days.

Either way, when Carol Bowne was fatally stabbed by an ex-boyfriend late Wednesday night just outside her Berlin home, she had been waiting since mid April.

Although the 39-year-old longtime hair stylist had filed a restraining order against suspect Michael Eitel, 45, the man allegedly attacked her shortly after 10 p.m. upon Bowne’s arrival at her Patton Avenue home. Not only had she filed for a permit in mid April, but she went back to ask about why it hadn’t been issued yet two days before she was killed. The police had not yet gotten her fingerprint record results.

The Liberals scream: “We just want common-sense background checks.” And whenever someone is killed with a gun, it is always assumed to be the fault of the government for not requiring background checks. Will we ever hear Liberals admit that people die because of their background checks?

By Liberal standards the system “worked,” in this case. Carol was prevented from owning a gun until the government could be sure she was safe. They can now put the gun in her coffin and another gun is off the street.

In 1935 Adolf Hitler said: “This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!”

Scientists tell us the world is made of Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons. I say the world is made of Morons that vote. The fact is you could save more lives by taking pens away from politicians than by taking guns away from law abiding citizens. Criminals obey “gun control” laws the same way politicians follow their oaths of office.

As I write this letter Obama is creating Artificial Ammo Shortages- he has used the enormous buying power of the Federal government to limit the supply of ammo for everyday gun owners. He’s using the EPA to force the closure of a lead smelting plant that is integral in the ammunition production industry. This closure now gives Obama the ability to use trade policies and tariffs on imported lead to control ammo production in the U.S. And using little known provisions in Obamacare in the “legal” confiscation of hundreds of thousands of firearms from law-abiding Americans.

Ian Williams Goddard said it best: A society whose citizens refuse to see and investigate the facts, who refuse to believe that their government and their media will routinely lie to them and fabricate a reality contrary to verifiable facts, is a society that chooses and deserves the police state Dictatorship it is going to get.”
