Mr. Andrew Johnson Cross passed away on June 5 at his daughter’s residence.Services for Mr. Andrew Johnson Cross, also known by his friends and family as AJ or Andy, age 93, will be on June 27 at 1:00pm at Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown, TN. The North Georgia Honor Guard will be conducting the service.

He is survived by his children, Connie Beaver (James Clark), Linda Kay Austin, Ebba Stymus (Walter); 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy L. Cross-Clark and Louise Cross-Goldson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Cross is preceded in death by his wife, Onibee Hedden Cross; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mr. Cross was an American Hero. He landed on Utah Beach during WWII where he fought for 8 days before being shot and wounded. He was awarded a Purple Heart after his brave service. Mr. Cross loved to make people laugh and was known as a joker. He enjoyed working in his garden and canning. He was an outdoors man who spent his time hunting and fishing. Mr. Cross was a one of a kind man. He loved his family and was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.
