Matthew 5:27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Lord Jesus, you did not want a woman or a man to be violated by lust. You have created us all with a normal desire that is right within our nature. But you have instructed us not to look in such a way that creates a desire for that person to whom we have no right. Passion is not to be stimulated and plans made to carry it to fruition.
Heart adultery can sometimes be as damaging as actual adultery. Emotional bonds formed with someone in whom we have a sexual interest can be a betrayal of our marriage vows. Thank you for protecting our families by warning us of this danger.
Give this person who now prays the joy of a safe and stable marriage that is free from outside lusts.
Amen.
