Daily Prayer: 06/08

Matthew 5:23-24. “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

O God, you know everything about us. You know our struggles with ourselves and with others. You have designed our relationship in such a way that we cannot be right with you if we are not right with others. An ill relationship with someone makes it difficult for us to worship you.

Help us to realize the sanctity of relationships as expressed in your requirement that we leave our offering at the altar and go immediately to repair a relationship and then come back to you. In church we often reflect on every area of our lives. We do want to worship you in a way that is unhindered.

Grant this person who now pauses for meditation the freedom of being right with others and you. In Jesus Name,

Amen.
