Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Lord Jesus, there are places in the earth where it is dangerous to be called a Christian. Some believers cannot assemble in public. There are countries where a Bible is not permitted. There are hundreds of Christian servants in prison. Some are being killed because of their faith in you. Even in our own country “Christian” is becoming a derogatory term by those who have no appreciation of the life you offer.

Just as the first century believers were persecuted, the same is happening in the twenty first century. What great honor and blessings you will bestow upon them.

We pray today for the persecuted church in all places in the world. Give your people the courage to continue their stand against the forces of evil. One day all of us will bow at your feet in love and adoration for being with us in the struggle.
