Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”
Lord Jesus, you came to earth to be like us and with us. You understand us and are patient and sympathetic with us and you want us to be that way toward others. Help us to do what you did in seeing things the way that others do. We know that there is always a reason why people act the way that they do. Give us the ability to want to know the reason so that we may be understanding of them.
We who have received great mercy are under obligation to be merciful to those around us. If we are merciful – we will continue to be shown mercy by your divine hand for we will always need it.
Help this one who pauses in meditation now to offer mercy to someone today and see what joy it brings.
Amen.
