Psalm 139:3-4 “You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.” O God of our lives, you see us when we leave for work or school each day. You are aware when we come home and when we go to bed. You see everything about our lives. All that we do each day is clear to you.
You hear every word that we speak and you even know our thoughts before we utter a thought. Such knowledge is both awesome and fearful to us. It is awesome that you can know us so intimately and it is fearsome because there are some thoughts that we had rather hide from you.
But more than all we take great comfort that you know us personally and this tells us that we are not alone. May this person who pauses for prayer just now take solace in the truth of your ever present help and call upon you for grace to live abundantly today. In the name of Jesus who gives life eternal and abundant.
Amen
