Rebels Outlast Spartans

The Fannin County High School Rebels baseball team bounced back from a 4-3 loss to Lumpkin with a 3-2 win over West Hall, after a walk off RBI single from Jacob Reece that scored Garrett Rogers.
The first run of the game came in the bottom of the third inning when Hunter Rice’s RBI single drove in Rogers; however, the Spartans tied the game with a run scored in the top of the fourth.

The Spartans took the lead in the top of the sixth, scoring one run to put West Hall up 2-1. Fannin tied the game in the bottom of the same inning with an RBI single from Cody Falls. Fannin found victory in the bottom of the seventh with Reece’s aforementioned walk off RBI single.

Starting pitcher, Will Shirah, gave up only one hit, one earned run and struck out seven in five innings. Judson Hawkins got the win in relief, pitching two innings, allowing only one run.

The Rebels are now 9-11 on the year.
