Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Shepherd of our souls, we bow before You to receive the care that You give to Your flock. You feed us with divine food so that our hearts are satisfied. We do not want for anything because You provide the life that sustains us.
We feel so safe in Your fold at night. During the day You are with us in all our comings and goings. We see those about us who trust other shepherds who lead them differently. Some are starving. Others live at a frantic pace trying to make it on their own. They do not know that You are the true shepherd who wants them in Your flock.
Our prayer today is especially for those who have wandered away from the flock and are out on the hills alone where there is danger. Jesus taught us that the Good Shepherd would leave the ninety and nine and go after the one. We praise You in Jesus name.
Amen.
