FCHS to Host Cirriculum Night
Rebel's Corner March 13, 2015Fannin County High School will host Curriculum Night on Thursday, March 26, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents of Students interested in Advanced Placement Courses(AP), Dual Enrollment and HOPE Scholarships (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) are highly encouraged to attend along with their students. The meeting will consist of three break-out sessions where parents will meet with presenters in small groups. In session one, the advantages of taking AP courses, along with the expectations, challenges and rigor of AP courses will be addressed. Also discussed will be the scoring of AP tests and with how scores transfer to colleges.
A second session will cover the step by step time-line of dual enrollment, an explanation of the three dual enrollment options, admission requirements, and general costs involved.
The third session will cover the HOPE Scholarship eligibility requirements, rigor requirements, and how dual and AP courses can affect students’ HOPE Scholarship eligibility.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about high school curriculum and all students and parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
