Daily Prayer: February 11, 2015

Psalm 42:11 “Why art thou cast down, O my soul”Heavenly Father, our reactions to the afflictions of life are not always Christian. When the burdens get heavy, we sometimes turn inward rather than upward; we become irritable with our loved ones; we doubt our faith and blame you for what has happened to us; we compromise our convictions and indulge ourselves, and we wander away from you rather than going to you.

Teach us how to respond when life hurls stones at us. In our hearts we know how we ought to respond, but our childishness prevents it. We know that we ought to respond with “Thy will be done.” Give us grace to live in that will today; through Christ our Lord.
