McCaysville Water Plant Conservation Alert; WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST
Announcements February 6, 2015Work continues at the refurbishment of the McCaysville Water Plant. We are experiencing unexpected problems. Our water storage is not recovering as quickly as we would have liked, mainly due to backwashing of the newly installed filter media. We are asking for renewed Water Conservation Efforts by everyone to allow us to complete our project while furnishing clean, safe water to our citizens and businesses.
Please avoid any unnecessary water use until we can complete this portion of our work. Notification will be sent when our operations return to normal.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Richard Wagner
McCaysville Water Commissioner
CONSERVATION ALERT: The McCaysville Water Plant Refurbishment Project is almost complete. We are entering a critical phase during which we replace our filter system. Beginning Monday, February 2, 2015, we will take one of our two filters out of service. This filter will be out of service for an estimated seventeen (17) days, while we complete the testing and verifications required by GA EPD.
Please conserve water during this period, as we will be operating at a reduced capacity at our Water Plant, and we want to insure adequate water throughout the system.
