The Fannin County High School wrestling team traveled to Lumpkin for the 7-AAA Area Traditional Tournament. FCHS under the tutelage of new head coach, David Henson, had 13 out of 14 wrestlers place, and four qualify for Sectionals with a chance to compete for a State Championship. The top four place winners from each Area move on to Sectionals and the top eight from each Section compete at the State Tournament.
Kayleb Chancey was the highest place winner, and the lone Area finalist. He placed second at 113. Justin Wheat and Bradley Flowers each placed third at 106 and 220 respectively. Parker Brown placed fourth at 138.
Keaton Towe (120), Ben Bruce (132), Devin Greene (152), Wesley Lim (160), and Tanner Blevins (285) all placed fifth and will be first alternate if a top four place winner is unable to compete at Sectionals.
Quinn Leach (126), Barrett Webb (145), Hunter Mullen (182), and Adrian Mendosa (195) all placed sixth.
