Mrs. Irene Maudie Allen, age 94 of Marietta, GA passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Canton, GA.She was born on Saturday, April 24, 1920, to the late Luther and Myrtle Patterson Payne. Mrs. Allen operated a children’s nursery. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Harrison Allen and two sons Emery and James Allen.

Surviviors are daughter, Milbern J. Elliott of Ball Ground, GA; two grandchildren, Steve Elliott and Donna Golder; and a great-grandson, Aaron David Golder also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 1, 2015 after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. Music will be by Mary Poole. Interment will follow in Patterson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Elliott, Randy Golder, Wesley Payne, Jeff Payne, James Payne, Charles Payne and Greg Pagne. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
