Mr. Benton Hysinger “Ben” Potter, age 90, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away December 9, 2014 in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Chattanooga, TN he was the son of the late Benton Hooper and Ora Bell O’Neal Potter. Mr. Potter served his country in the United States Army. He owned and operated Benton H. Potter, Inc.. Insurance Agency. Ben was a member and served as a Deacon for First Baptist Blue Ridge and had been active with the Rotary Club and Gideon’s International.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Patricia H. Potter of the home; daughter, Sherry Yvonne Potter of College Park, GA; step-children, Janet Elaine Salacinski of Greenacres, FL and Charles E. Walker of Gastonia, NC; sister-in-law, Margaret Potter; nieces, Sandra Hale and Lynn Potter all of Chattanooga, TN; nephews, Michael and Randy Carruth both of Chattanooga, TN; canine friends, Toby and Barney of the home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. from the Blue Ridge First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. A Eulogy will be provided by Mr. Dale Dyer. Music will be provided by Brian Huffman and Imogene Stewart. Pallbearers will be Howard Tilley, Howard Kent, Ben Turner, Don Peek and Bill Huff. The Adult 1 Sunday School Class will serve as an Honorary Escort. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. For those desiring, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Ben to the Fannin Christian Learning Center at 2324 E.
