Mr. Larry Eugene Wimberley: Obituary

Mr. Larry Eugene Wimberley, age 72, of Ducktown, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Fannin Regional Hospital.He was born on December 18, 1941 to the late William Glenn Wimberley, Sr. and Blanche Harper Wimberley. Mr. Wimberley worked for Sears as a warehouse supply clerk and attended Fairview Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed Tennessee Vols, Copper Basin Cougar football and a big fan of John Wayne. He was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Collis.

Survivors are daughter, Tiffany Wimberley, Griffin, GA; stepdaughter, Tammy of Griffin, GA; mother, Blanche H. Wimberley of Ducktown, TN; brother and sister-in-law, W.G. “Nick” and Shelbia Wimberley of McCaysville, GA; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Matthew McDaniel and Rev. Harold Willis officiating. Music will be by Rev. Harry and Katie Gilbert. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Murphy, NC. Pallbearers will be Derrick Payne, Darrell Payne, Tim Wimberley, Keith Jones, Gary Harper and Buddy Harper. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
