Milsap Circle, Epworth, GA

Dispatched: 2222 Arrived: 2232 Cleared: 0216

Fannin County Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire. Milsap Circle, Upon arrival found a single story residential structure with smoke coming from all sides of structure. Crews established command. And performed walk around and advised fire was on the C-D side of the structure. Upon Engine 4 arrival first crew packed out and pulled 1 3/4″ attack line. Fire had started to vent through D side (carport) door, and knocked down fire venting through door and prepared to make entry into the structure through the D side door. First crew made initial attack. Heavy fire was in the kitchen and laundry room area. Arching could be heard coming from the laundry room area. Firefighters paused to determine if safe to continue interior fire attack. Arching sound stopped and interior attack was continued. A third person then
joined interior attack. Second crew pulled another 1 3/4″ attack line through A side (front) door. Fire was noticed in attic space so firefighters began to pull ceiling to extinguish fire in attic area. Fire was also found on C side exterior wall and through attic vent on D side of structure. Initial attack crew pulled back to extinguish exterior fire. Firefighters then made vertical ventilation opening in roof over the kitchen and laundry rooms which had been on fire. Second interior checked attic for extension, and took over fire suppression in the C-D side of structure at this time. Majority of fire was extinguished and overhaul was started to check for hotspots throughout structure. Once all hot spots were extinguished all units returned to service.
