Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cantrell, age 89 of Blairsville, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014. Mrs. Cantrell was born September 6, 1925 in Blairsville, GA to the late Ben Nix and the late Lottie Duckworth Nix. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dave Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: daughter, Ruth (Jim) Henson, son, Jack Cantrell, daughter, Lucille (Rex) Taylor, son, Bobby (Brenda) Cantrell, daughter, Martha (Bill) Murrin, sister, Audrey Hill, Brother, Edgar Nix, sister, Edna Russell, sister, Sarah Murray, brother-in-law, Pryor Cantrell, 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services: Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with the Rev. Leon McDonald, Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Music will be provided by Spirit Led. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dewayne Cantrell, Travis Cantrell, Dakota Cantrell, Caleb Kephart, Allen Murray, and Timmy Hollis. Honorary pallbearers: Dale Chance, Blake Taylor, and Dennis Deyton.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Wednesday, November 12th from 6 until 9 p.m.
