Daily Prayer: 10/18/2014

“He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” Proverbs 14:29Lord of all grace and of love, our tempers sometimes get the best of us. We confess that we flare when we should be calm. Help us to develop self control that will be considerate of others. May we learn the great truth that “he that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” Give us the wisdom to turn away wrath by a soft answer.

If this person who reads this prayer today is caught in the cross-fire of anger, empower this one with the grace of kindness that shall soothe those that are wrought up. May the gracious spirit of Christ abide with this one today for it is in His name we pray.

Amen.
