Rebel's Corner, Religion October 10, 2014Fields of Faith was held Wednesday Oct. 8th at the Fannin County High School stadium. There was around 400 students and leaders there from all the local churches youth groups around the county.Fields of Faith is a student-led event where students invite, pray for and with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. For the past two years, Fields of Faith has been held at the Fannin County High School Football Stadium and we held the gathering here for the third year. Speakers included Lacey Walden, Alexis Davenport, Molly Chandler, Holly Hawkins, Leanne Bradley and Hannah Pace. Walden kicked off the event with a little dance-off and got the crowd warmed up for an awesome night FCHS assistant principal T.C. Dillard participated in the dance off! Davenport opened us up with prayer then introduced Chandler to give us a background on the event. Next, Hawkins came up and gave us her heart-felt testimony and her love for her church. In between each speaker, The local band known as the Praise Project played some familiar Christian songs. Bradley spoke to the crowd about the future. She challenged the crowd to place their trust in God because he knows the future. Next was Pace who also spoke of her testimony. She spoke about looking for approval and love from God and no other source in the world. Chandler then directed all of the attendees onto the field to gather around the logo and hold hands to pray for our schools, leaders, and lost people. The Praise Project closed the event out with the popular song “Oceans” by Hillsong United.
