Perfection is not Easy

The winner were the students who were eligible to win a new Chevy Cruze or Sonic after completing 180 days of 98-percent or better attendance at their respective schools. These students were given the opportunity to be recognized during the end-of-the-year event at The Cobb Galleria where a drawing selected the winner of the new Chevy. There were 58 seniors from the class of 2014 that qualified for the drawing.

Fannin County High School is charged with the significant task of educating our youth and our local Chevy dealers are honored to provide support in our community,” said Jeff Walker for June Walker Chevrolet. “The Chevy Drive for Perfection initiative makes going to school a whole lot sweeter!”

In its second year at Fannin High, Chevy Drive for Perfection was an initiative presented by Chevrolet and the local dealers in conjunction with the Fannin County School Board. The program was created to give seniors an additional incentive to finish their high school careers strong in order to adequately prepare for post-secondary education or the workforce. According to the U.S. Department of Education, students who have poor attendance for reasons other than illness are also more likely to drop out and to fall behind their peers in the classroom. “We appreciate the continued support from June Walker Chevrolet and we are grateful that they recognize the importance of attending school on a regular basis. Our students work very hard in school and it is great to have additional incentives from the community to support our students efforts,” said Erik Cioffi, Principal of Fannin County High School.

June Walker Chevrolet’s two years of contributions totaled more than $7500.00. Jeff Walker said “we thank all our customers for supporting us and are very happy to give back to our community’s future”. “The administration, staff and students of Fannin County High are outstanding”. “The money was earmarked to be split evenly between academics and athletics for the betterment of the students.”
