On Tuesday, September 16th, Mountain Education Charter High School made a career education trip to North Georgia Technical College’s cosmetology lab.Mrs. Barbara Wheatley, department chair, had visited MEC in June and talked about the many career possibilities in the field of cosmetology. The students followed this up with a visit to the college and had the opportunity of experiencing firsthand what the program had to offer. Each high school student was paired with a college student who then provided some cosmetology service such as a manicure, pedicure, haircut or curl. The students were able to ask questions and further learn about NGTC. Both sides had a fun morning and benefited from the experience.
