Mrs. Bertha E. Ballew, age 95, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Pruitt Nursing Home. Mrs.Ballew was born June 19, 1919 in Greensboro, GA to the late Joseph Withrow and the late Mollie Newman Withrow. Bertha was a member of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill.

She was preceded in death by husband, David “Pistol” Ballew, Sr., father, Joseph Withrow, mother, Mollie Newman, and one son, Clinton Ballew.

Survivors include: son, David (Janet) Ballew, Jr., daughter, Carol Kell and grandchildren, Robin, Tammy, Kelly, Kevin, Carlton, and Kim.

Funeral services: at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 20, 2014 3:00pm with the Rev. Harry Gilbert officiating. Music will be by Mr. Jimmy Helton and eulogy by grandson, Carlton “Tain” Kell.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
