Mr. Johnny Beecher Allen, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 in the Gilmer County Nursing Home in Ellijay, GA. Allen was born in Fannin County, GA on June 3, 1932 to the late Beecher Allen and Samantha Jane Collis Allen. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and he was preceded in death by his wife Vena Foster Allen and a son, Gary Allen. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Larry Nicholson of Blue Ridge, GA and Cheryl and David Pasket of Ellijay, GA; seven grandchildren, Scott Nicholson, Jeremy Nicholson, Jennifer Painter, David Queen, Amber Bauman, Daniel Allen, and Carrie Anderson; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be by Gilliam Farmer. Pallbearers will be David Queen, Jeremy Nicholson, Scott Nicholson, Daniel Allen, Tim Bauman, and Drew Anderson. Interment followed in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
