Mr. Elmer Curtis Boone, 79, of McDonough, GA passed away Friday, September 11, 2014 at his home.Born in Commerce, GA he was the son of the late William Fletcher and Eunice May Wilson Boone. He was a very active member of the McDonough Baptist Tabernacle serving in several capacities; Sunday School Teacher, Bus Ministries, Deacon, Youth and formation of other churches, just to name a few.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ruby Long Boone, of the home; daughters and son-in-laws, Michele and Dale Boone of Locust Grove, GA and Linda and Nathan Snow of Abashiri, Japan; grandchildren, David Powell, Melissa (Michael) Oswalt, Daniel, Megan, Andrew, Jacob, Noah, Josiah, and Isaac Snow; sister-in-law, Louise Boone of Augusta, GA.
Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Snow officiating. Music was provided by the Snow Family. Interment followed in the Stockhill Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Powell, Michael Oswalt, Daniel Snow, Michael Hawkins, Robbie Conley and Harlan Conley. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Kenny Stokes, Reid Conley, Gene Ledford and Bill Hawkins.
