Daily Prayer: 09/06/2014

Psalm 55:22 “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”Almighty God, Father of mercies and God of all comfort we are comforted as we read of the blessed invitation to cast our burdens upon you. You are the only one who can comfort our souls and fortify us with spiritual power. In you, we find comfort in the midst of all the distresses that life brings to us. There is not a problem so big that you can not solve it, or one so little that you are not interested in it. Teach us how to place burdens at your altar and leave them there. So often we come to prayer and still take them away with us. We need to know how to grow in faith so as to entrust all of life into your hands.

We rejoice in the blessings you shower upon us and we praise you for everything you do for us. When we survey the Cross of Calvary, we are overwhelmed by the love you have for us.

Would you help this one who seeks you in prayer to give attention to the things that really count; in the strength of Christ.

Amen.
