Mrs. Vertie M. Blackburn, age 74, of Blue Ridge, passed away August 23, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Blackburn was born August 31, 1939 in Jonesboro, ME, to Mrs. Elsie Schencks. A member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Blackburn and son, Robert J. Blackburn.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Susan (Michael) Walker, grandchildren, K. Cole Glover, Casie (Matthew) Classey, Amber (Kevin) Breedlove & Courtney Blackburn. One great grandchild, Tucker Breedlove.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 11:00AM from the Henry-Cochran funeral home of Blue Ridge GA, with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at 2:00PM in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
