Amidst a group of downtown Blue Ridge civic-minded workaholics, Blue Ridge Mayor, Donna Whitener enthusiastically announced per appointments for the 2020 Project
2020 is a civic design and planning project focused on keeping the city competitive and promoting tourism.
A group of citizens worked for several years to prepare the preliminary research necessary to identify the city’s project needs.
A few weeks ago, the group approached the mayor and asked that she spearhead an effort to drive 2020 forward.
Exhibiting a confident, ‘take charge’ attitude the mayor announced the assignments toward the end of last week’s Blue Ridge City Council meeting.
The appointments were made based on individuals’ stated desire to be involved, and their expertise within a certain subject area.
