Mr. Bruce Bynum Diggs, Sr., age 88, formerly of Jonesboro, Jasper and Morganton, GA, passed away on May 25, 2014, in Murfreesboro, TN. Mr. Diggs grew up in Cheraw, SC, and was one of 11 children. He served in WWII in the United States Navy and retired after many years as the Assistant Director of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, GA.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Currie Diggs; daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Alvin Stewart of Jasper, GA; son, Bruce Bynum Diggs, Jr., of Morganton, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home, Morrow, GA.
