Mrs. Ethel Marylou Brooks Norton, age 100 of Blue Ridge, GA, and heaven spoke and she went home on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Fannin Regional Hospital.She was born on Monday, February 2, 1914 to the late Benjamin Lewis and Amanda Leola Stone Brooks. Mrs. Norton was a homemaker and a member of Philadelphia Church in Jasper, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hara Norton; parents; son, Ben Norton; daughter, Willa Mae Dale; grandson, Buck Norton and great-granddaughter, Taylor Norton.

Survivors are a son, Kimsey Norton of Blue Ridge, GA; daughters, Lorenia Norton of Blue Ridge, GA, Linda Sue Norton of Blue Ridge, GA, Margarete Ann Weeks of Blue Ridge, GA and Myrtle Robinson of Dallas, NC; brothers, Ernest Brooks of Ball Ground, GA and Eugene Brooks of Jasper, GA; sisters, Lemer Graves of Canton, GA, Marie Fountain of Canton, GA, Ilene Roberts of AK and Opalene Parton of Cumming, GA; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Mike Collis and Rev. Kenneth Mann officiating. Music will be by Jessie and Lena Hill, Herb Arp, Amanda and Jerome Stewart. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric, Troy, Leroy, James, Josh and Jess Norton. Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Parks, Jason Dale, Randy Harrison, James Barton, A.J. Massey, Justin Satterfield and Bobby Weeks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 4, 2014 after 2:00 p.m. but especially from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
