The Bus “Road-eo” in Fannin is coming very soon. Check out last year’s “Road-eo” below and and plan to attend this year.
Fetch caught the bus in Fannin county one day this week with Transportation director Benny Long. He explained how the school bus road-eo is a fun way to promote safety with the school bus drivers.
Safety competitions have proven to be one of the most effective instructional tools to improve a person’s driving skills.
The school bus road-eo’s goals are:
* to motivate good practices & superior job performance as a school bus driver
* recognize excellence & provide demonstration of the demanding job of a driver
* develop public awareness of skills & responsibilities of a bus driver
* encourage communication between drivers
There were several tests, such as a 5 minute pre-trip to find 5 defects, student loading, and several parking and maneuvering tests.
