CRCT Testing Begins April 29th

Students in grades 3-8 will take the Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT), in reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies beginning April 29th.
The following suggestions are offered to help your child better prepare for these tests:

1) Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep;
2) Arrive at school early;
3) Encourage your child to do his/her best;
4) Encourage your child to eat breakfast each morning, either at home or at school;
5) Dress your child comfortably;
6) Remind your child to follow directions carefully; and
7) Remind your child to check over answers again prior to turning in his/her test.

Test security is a priority for our school system. Assessment documents are kept in a secure location at all times. The testing coordinator and the principal are the only building level personnel with access to the testing materials. Each morning the testing coordinator prepares, counts and distributes the materials to designated teachers. At the conclusion of the testing session, the assessment materials are immediately returned to the testing coordinator to be counted and returned to the designated secure location. It is the direct responsibility of all individuals who administer the test to follow security procedures. Student test booklets and the items therein are to be used solely for test purposes and may not be disclosed or used for any other purpose.

If you have any questions regarding the CRCT, you may contact your child’s teacher, an administrator at your child’s school, or Art Hubbard, Assistant Superintendent and Testing Coordinator, at 706-632-3771.

We appreciate your support in helping your child be successful with the CRCT this year.
