Mr. Dean Daugherty age 79 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.He was born on Thursday, October 4, 1934 in Wilmington, Ohio, to the late Cecil Roy and Alice Lamacke Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty had been employed by Sprint as a house service mechanic. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Blue Ridge. Mr. Daugherty served his country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Lovett; two brothers, Sonny Daugherty and Bob Creager and one sister, Charlotte Wilson.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-four years, Sandy M. Daugherty of the home; children, Garry Daugherty of Morristown, TN, Barry and Kathy Daugherty of Rome, GA, Debi Holcomb and Jerry of Blue Ridge, GA, David Johns of Lehigh, FL, Luke McDonald of Fort Myers, FL and Tim and Marianne McDonald stationed in Roanoke, VA; ten grandchildren, Katie, Kevin, Dillon, Crystal, Tina, Shane, Emily, Jessica, Dakota and Skyler and three great grandchildren, Emma, C.J. and Jonathon.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 5, 2014 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Postell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 12:00 noon until the funeral service hour of 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel Blue Ridge, P.O.
